Our promise
Every operator we review is tested by us. Real accounts, real deposits via mobile money, real withdrawals. We document what we see, including the broken parts. If we cannot test something — for example, KYC behaviour for a specific edge case — we say so explicitly rather than guess.
Testing methodology
For each operator we cover, we run through the following checks:
- Registration: we open a real account from a Somali IP (where possible) and document the flow — including the promo-code field, KYC requirements, and any geo-blocking.
- Deposit: we deposit via at least one Somali mobile-money method (EVC Plus / Zaad / Sahal / eDahab) and capture screenshots of the full flow, fees, and arrival time.
- Sportsbook: we place real bets on football, including Somalia-relevant fixtures (Premier League, Champions League, AFCON), to evaluate market depth, odds, and live-betting UX.
- Casino / Aviator: we run sessions to evaluate game library size, RNG provider transparency, and the cash-out mechanics on Aviator specifically.
- Withdrawal: we request a real withdrawal and time how long it takes to land. Withdrawal speed is the single best signal of operator reliability.
- Customer support: we contact support with at least one realistic question per channel (live chat, email) and rate the response on speed and usefulness.
- Mobile experience: we test the website and any APK on Android devices including older budget hardware (~2 GB RAM, 3G connection).
How we score
Our overall rating (out of 10) is a weighted combination of:
- Payout reliability (25%) — withdrawal speed, completion rate, complaint history
- Somali-market fit (20%) — mobile-money depth, currency support, language
- Sportsbook depth (15%) — markets, odds quality, live betting
- Mobile UX (15%) — app size, performance on weak data, friction in deposit flow
- Bonus and promo terms (10%) — fairness of rollover, transparency
- Customer support (10%) — responsiveness, language coverage
- Compliance and licensing (5%) — Curacao status, parent-company transparency
We re-test rated operators at least quarterly. If a score changes by more than 0.3 points, we update the page and note the date.
Affiliate disclosure
Some of the operator links on this site may earn us a commission if you register and deposit through them. This is how independent review sites typically fund their work.
Crucially: commission rates from the operators we cover are similar enough that they cannot rationally bias our rankings. The operator that pays us the most is not always our top pick. When two operators pay similar commissions, the better product wins.
If we ever do recommend an operator primarily because of commission, we will disclose that explicitly on the relevant page. We have not done so to date.
What we will not do
- We do not accept payment to inflate ratings.
- We do not publish reviews of operators we have not tested.
- We do not endorse "predictor apps" for Aviator or any other game. Cryptographic RNG is not predictable; anyone selling predictions is selling a scam.
- We do not promise winning strategies. Betting is entertainment, not income.
- We do not target readers under 18, and we do not market to people experiencing gambling harm.
Corrections policy
If we publish something inaccurate — a wrong bonus amount, a misstated payment method, an outdated regulatory claim — we want to know. Email hello@betsomali.com with the page URL and the specific error.
When we update a page to correct a factual error, we add a note at the bottom of the page describing the change and the date. We do not silently overwrite history.
