Our approach to bylines
BetSomali launched in May 2026 with a small editorial team. Each operator review or pillar guide is produced by one writer, fact-checked by a second, and signed off before publication. Bylines and biographies appear at the foot of each individual review as we publish them.
Reviews are maintained by the editorial desk and each rated page states the scope and date of its latest check. Deposit and withdrawal claims are tied to the corresponding row in the evidence register and labelled according to the evidence that remains. The July 2026 register is an author-reported reconstruction: the original receipts and screenshots were lost with a storage device.

Lead Editor
Sets coverage priorities, signs off on rankings, and is the point of contact for operator partnerships and corrections. Email: hello@betsomali.com.
Reviews Writer
Runs the account and interface checklist, produces the long-form review, and maintains the rolling list of changes to terms, app routes, payment records and KYC requirements. A reconstruction is never presented as independently retained proof.
Payments & Compliance Reviewer
Verifies the documented EVC Plus, Zaad, Sahal and eDahab deposit/withdrawal records, monitors licence signals, and fact-checks legal-status claims. A tested transaction remains scoped to its account, date and route.
Bilingual Editor (Somali / English)
Edits and proof-reads Somali-language content. Native Somali speaker. Ensures terminology around maysir, sharrita, and mobile-money operators (Hormuud, Telesom, Somtel) is accurate and culturally appropriate.
Author bylines (rolling)
Individual author profiles will be linked here as we publish reviews under their names. We do this gradually rather than padding the team page with stock biographies.

Editorial standards
Our writers and editors operate under our public Editorial Policy. Reusable test records are published in the Evidence Register. These documents cover testing scope, source ownership, affiliate disclosure and corrections. If anything we publish appears inconsistent with them, please tell us.
